    East Europe Beer Report

    "East Europe Beer Market : up again"

    June 2003

    The beer market in East Europe continues to show further growth in 2002, according to the 2003 report now available from industry specialists Plato Logic. Total consumption at over 178 million hectolitres was nearly 7% higher than 2001. 
    Of the major markets, Russia was up nearly 12% and Ukraine up nearly 15%.  
    Multi-national brewers continue to strengthen their positions in this key strategic market.  BBH leads with Heineken's recent acquisition of BBAG securing them second place, followed by SABMiller.
